Big Brother 8 : Is The Honeymoon Over?
After the initial controversy from the early days of Big Brother 8 the house seemed to be fairly calm, despite fiery Charley’s attempts to cause fights, arguments and general mayhem. The introduction of Liam, Jonathan, Brian and Billi on Friday seemed to give the house a new lift, but the groups are becoming ever more seperated, and there have been a number of fierce arguments over the last couple of days.
Laura was the victim of a sustained attack from Charley over the weekend, accusing her of stealing her hair straightners. The lady from Wales did very well to hold her cool, never once rising to the bait from the argumentative Charley. Finally realising that Laura had won the day, Charley accused the whole house of being a “load of weirdoes”.
The four new entrants have settled down well, although Ziggy seems to be struggling with the lack of attention after being the only male in the house for a week. His “relationship” with Chanelle seems to be crumbling with Chanelle losing interest and seemingly looking to “cool things”. It seems to be the food orders which are causing most grief in the house with arguments over who ordered what, and the mystery of the “missing bananas”. Food rations are minimal at the best of times, and this lack of food is starting to cause friction.
There has been much speculation that Big Brother 8 may be the last in the UK series, however each new series brings its own unique features to the show. The human mind can play tricks, especially when confined in a house with people you have never met - often leading to a lethal cocktail of fun, games and upset, and compulsive viewing.
While initially written off by many after entering the house, Tracey is emerging as a firm favourite - perhaps a little mad, but in an amusing way. The apparently fiery political activist Carole has also attracted an army of followers and she seems to be getting along very well with new house mate Jonathan. The current favourite to win is Liam, but Big Brother 8 still has many more twists and turns to come!
Welsh opera fan wins TV talent contest
Paul Potts, the Welsh mobile phone salesman-turned opera singer, has been crowned as the winner of the television show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
Around two million people voted in the final of the show, which has seen 50,000 acts compete for a top prize of £100,000 as well as the opportunity to sing at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
The 36-year old came to the judge’s attention in the early qualifying rounds with his rendition of the opera classic ‘Nessun Dorma’, made famous by one of his heroes, Pavarotti.
On being awarded the top prize, the Port Talbot resident, said: “I feel like jelly.
“Its means like absolutely everything, thank you for believing in me.
Simon Cowell, founder of the show and one of the three celebrity judges alongside Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, congratulated Potts on his achievement and invited him to a recording studio next week to produce his first album.
What makes the story even more remarkable is that Potts only started singing opera at the age of 28, when he sang his signature tune at a karaoke night whilst dressed as Pavarotti.
Piers Morgan, the former editor of the Daily Mirror, told him: “You’ve earned it, you’ve deserved it and I can’t think of anybody I’d rather see represent this show at the Royal Variety Performance.”
Apprentice quitter Katie ’stripped and flashed herself’
Quitter Katie Hopkins appeared on the un-aired pilot run of Channel 4’s Big Brother, it has been revealed.
Katie, who famously walked out of the Apprentice during an eleventh hour show, has been accused of being hungry for fame; claims that look all the more substantiated since the news broke.
One-time stepdaughter Charlie McKinney, 18, told the Daily Mirror that “she’s very into the idea of celebrity.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on the next Celebrity Big Brother,” Charlie added.
The Apprentice contestant, who was recently laid off from the Met Office after a number of alleged affairs with married men were made public, stripped off to nothing and took photocopies of her private parts, according to one ex-housemate.
“Katie took her clothes off and lay on the photocopier with no qualms at all. She went straight for the more intimate areas of her anatomy and got down to work,” said one previous Big Brother contestant.
The Apprentice Winner: Simon Ambrose
Simon Ambrose was crowned winner of the apprentice this week after a gripping final battle with Kristina Grimes.
27 year old Simon from Clapham will land a £100,000 a year position with Sir Alan Sugar and will now be responsible for running a hotel and golf complex to further extend Sir Alan’s property portfolio.
Simon beat Kristina in the final as the pair were set the task of designing a building for London’s South Bank.
Simon’s design inspired by a plant at Kew gardens got Alan’s vote in the closing stages while Kristina chose artist John Gormley’s Angel of the North sculpture for hers.
Simon, of Clapham, South London, said after the win: “It’s a dream come true.”

Big Brother babes’ bloke hunt
Desperate girls in the Big Brother house were feeling so starved of male attention today they set about hunting for men in the small hours of the morning.
The randy housemates temporarily put their bitching, boozing and backstabbing to one side as they launched a frantic hunt for hunks in the grounds of their new home.

They got so frustrated they even convinced themselves there were some lads hiding next door in the compound, ready to leap into action.
Part-time actress Emily Parr, 19, said: “I think the boys are in a separate house watching us right now.”
