Talking to people Mariah, 39, said: “We really do feel we are soulmates. I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me.”

Equally lovey was Cannon talking about Carey when he said she is: “”beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside.”

PartyPoker.com European Open IV

PokerThe phenomenon that is poker suffered a major set-back when the US authorities outlawed online gambling, but there is still a great deal of interest in Europe where the final stages of the PartyPoker.com European Open IV get under way with a record prize pot of some $504,000 up for grabs.

Last year’s runner up, Darren Hickman, will be hoping that he can go one step further and snatch one of the largest prizes in world poker, but the other four finalists will have something to say about that.

There were many people who believed that live poker would not be transferable to the big screen but recent advances in technology and a handy camera under each players “hand” allows those at home to watch the games unfold in detail. Many live poker shows are also lightning fast at showing the odds for each hand on display and the chances of winning the pot. From the luxury of your own home you can check who has the best chance and who is bluffing.

While the early rounds of these large live poker competitions can be a little tedious with literally hundreds of players on show, the final few tables are where the real fun happens. Even though it is not the same as actually being there or playing, you can sense the tension as the final hand draws closer. Who will be there at the end? Will some blow it with a winning hand?

Anyone who has played poker online or offline will know that it’s a very unpredictable game - even those with the best hands do not always win the chips. More and more viewers are also finding that live tournaments are a great way to learn the game and the many strategies involved.

Jesus Camp

jesus-camp.JPGThere can be few subjects that prompt such differing opinions as religion and politics, but when you mix the two together in the United States of America you have the potential for real fireworks. Jesus Camp is an interesting and often disturbing look into the fundamentalist Christian movement in the US and their attempts to teach children how to become the future foot soldiers of “God’s Army”.

This documentary follows the lives of devout Christians Levi and Rachael as they head off to Pastor Becky Fischer’s summer camp in the bizarrely named Devil’s Lake area of North Dakota (even more alarmingly, the camp is commonly referred to as “Kids on Fire” camp). The program tracks the two new entrants through their time at the camp and allows them to express their thoughts as they progress.

Those who have covered the US Christian movement at length will know that it has a strong moral, religious and politic standing in the United States.  Jesus Camp is one of many such camps across the country and Pastor Becky Fischer is only the tip of iceberg for her chosen profession.

The Christian movement in the US has been at the forefront of an array of controversial subjects from abortion to casinos and everything else in between. They hold a very powerful position in many states and cities across the US and have a substantial input when it comes to events such as the Presidential Elections.  These very secretive associations have rarely allowed access to their inner working and camps such as “Kids on Fire” so tonight’s show should be an eye opener to those not aware of what happens.

Online Web TV Shows The Way Forward?

An online web series called We Need Girlfriends has been picked up by massive US network CBS.

The low budget series is based on the lives of three college room mates, Steven Tsapelas, Angel Acevedo and Brian Amyot as they attempt to understand the great mysterious world of chicks and dating.

Set just after the three are simultaneously dumped by their long term girlfriends, the three newly graduated fellas are bereft.

The guys have described their show as the anti-Entourage, saying that picking up women is just well, not nearly as easy as the show makes out. This forms the basis of most of the antics of the boys as they hang out in Queens trying to get the girls.

There have already been 11 fifteen minute episodes online and have proved a cult success.
