X-Men Origins: Wolverine leaks onto torrent sites

And here we were thinking Nightcrawler was the X-Men’s resident pirate (for anyone about to attempt to decry that, just you try and outgeek us).

Coinciding rather ironically (and confusingly) with April Fool’s Day, geeks across the world have woken up to the realisation that they can download a leaked version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a whole month before its official release.

Apparently, a high quality studio workprint (i.e., sans time coding and other production-y technicalities) found its way online and has since spread like Jean Grey’s Ass-fire.

With the state of the film industry at the moment, this is about as welcome as a claw to the head, and with a number of heavily-publicised problems having already affected the production of the movie, you can’t help but feel it’s all a little doomed.

Thankfully, all is not lost. A number of the big scene special effects have yet to be completed and so piratey leechers are going to be missing out on the finesse that only an expertly refined CGI-explosion can add to an action scene.

What do you think? Is Piracy ever acceptable? Will it affect the movies’ standing at the box office? Has Wolverine’s own depressingly unlucky life story bled into his onscreen career? Tell us what you think below!

Seems leaks such as these are becoming more and more common. Fox must be pissed..

I dunno. I agree it’s damaging the film industry but when I’m broke as it is and it costs me £10 to go to the cinema, it just seems too good a deal not to download it.

I feel naughty. But I like it.
