Videodrome to Get The Ehren Kruger Treatment

What do you mean you don’t know who Ehren Kruger is? He’s the writer of Michael Bay’s Transformers Sequel: Revenge Of The Fallen and terrorist neighbours epic Arlington Road. Seriously, what rock have you been living under? Never fear, soon his name will be branded upon your skulls as Kruger plans to put his screenwriting abilities to work on the re-make of David Cronenberg’s Videodrome.

The original featured Debbie Harry and James Woods in grotesque snuff TV splendour. Anyone who’s seen it needs only to hear the words “videotape” and “stomach” in the same sentence in order to cause abundant, fear-driven vomiting. Still, with great horror epics such as Lars Von Trier’s devil-worshipping, Antichrist and Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell, Ehren really needs to up his game on this one.

If the audience don’t go home with wet trousers, we will not be best pleased.
