Christopher Nolan will not return to direct another Batman film, it has been claimed.

Nolan had already expressed concerns about directing another film in the franchise after the enormous success of the first two in the rebooted series. He said that he feared a third film might not be as good as the first two and would let fans down

According to Movie Hole an insider has told that it’s unlikely that Nolan will be involved in another Batman project. The filmaker was reportedly hit so hard by the death of Heath Ledger whilst filming The Dark Knight that he wants no more involvement with the Caped Crusader.

Strepsil-dodging Christian Bale is contractually obliged to star in a third film but it’s unknown if other directors are being considered at this stage.

Nolan’s next film Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio and the ever-reliable Michael Caine, which is scheduled for a July release next year.
