Baywatch On The Big Screen
Variety reported today that the 90s red-lycra’d hit TV show Baywatch is to be made into a comedy movie.
Paramount has hired Jeremy Garelick, who did uncredited work on The Hangover to write and take the helm as director.
He said about the originally action-centric script: “It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to Stripes and Police Academy, the comedies I loved growing up”
“Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were,” he added.
Garelick’s story follows two out-of-shape lifeguards and their bid to make it among their buff counterparts.
Though what we all hope for is a cameo from the Hoff himself.
