Doctor Who Movie Rumour Picks Up Speed
Geeks across America will pilgrimage to their Mecca later this month; the San Diego ComicCon.
Who fans everywhere are wetting themselves at a possible confirmation of a Doctor Who movie with David Tennant behind the controls of the TARDIS.
Rumours were boosted by the fact that this year will be the first time the Who team have sent an entire panel to ComicCon. The movie is expected to be written by big brained boss himself, Russell T. Davies, and directed by Euros Lyn.
It’s likely that fans will be pleased with the choice of director after his impressive handling of Torchwood: Children of the Earth and several Who episodes (Silence in the Library, Runaway Bride and Girl in the Fireplace).
Although we know Tennant is being replaced by Matt Smith (the one who looks like he’s 12), he is currently attached to an ‘undisclosed sci-fi project’. Meanwhile, fanboys are having to change their pants every five minutes.
While it’s not time to crack out the champers just yet, Davies has fuelled the fires by giving hints about a “special project” that he’s been working on.
“News as and when, but I can promise, it’s worth waiting for,” Davies said, according to The Doctor Who Magazine.
The ComicCon will run from 23rd-26th July. So as soon as we know, you’ll know.
