Spiderman and Drag Me To Hell director, Sam Raimi, has announced that he will helm a new movie based on the online phenomenon, World of Warcraft.

Geeks everywhere will either rejoice or revolt at the news; it has such an enormous worldwide following that it looks like it is going a difficult one to cast, especially since it’s an MMORPG. Don’t know what that means?

Well it stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. That’s code for geeks around the world logging on and playing warrior quest games.

Raimi is currently a busy little bee and very little is known about how he will handle Warcraft. As a director, he will be working on the next instalment of Spiderman and a updated version of The Evil Dead.

As a producer he has even more work on the go with vampire movie Priest and Jack the Giant Killer in production as well as dozen other projects.

While Raimi has been announced as the director for Warcraft, we wouldn’t be surprised if he had a change of heart and changed his mind. With so much on his plate, will he be too busy to handle what is obviously a film made to be a trilogy?
