Dawn Treader Starts Making Waves

After having a near miss at being scrapped all together, the next Narnia film The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader has begun filming in Queensland, Australia.

Taking over from Disney, 20th Century Fox has become the distributor, allowing the franchise to continue. Considering the scale of the film we are surprised to learn that production on the project is set to wrap in November. With a four month shooting schedule and a whole year of post-production it looks set to be another effects laden spectacle.

Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes will return as Lucy and Edmund as well as man-candy Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian. Liam Neeson will also return to voice the great Aslan, as well as Will Poulter from Son Of Rambow playing Eustace.

It looks like Fox have seen an opportunity to snag their own Harry Potter style franchise, but with the disappointing box office numbers from the last Narnia movie, it’s not definite that we’ll get to see this series through to the end.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader is set for a 2010 release and is directed by Michael Apted.
