Spanish language horror flick,The Orphanage, is reportedly being remade in English. The story is about a woman who returns to the orphanage where she grew up only to be haunted by creepy ghost children that look like Worzel Gummidge.

The film received rave reviews and was a hit with fans of the producer, Guillermo Del Toro, but for some that wasn’t quite good enough. We’re no stranger to remakes but to remake a film that was only released two years ago just so you can watch it in English? Really?

The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that it will be directed by Larry Fessenden. You won’t recognise the name because he’s never made anything of quality before, so we’re not quite sure why he’s the man for the job. Del Toro seems to be guiding his hand though; they’ve written the script together and Del Toro will also produce the new movie.

This comes a few weeks after the news broke about another foreign success being remade. Let The Right One In was originally in Swedish but is set for a 2010 remake called Let Me In and will be helmed by Matt Reeves, director of Cloverfield.
