Have we not suffered enough?

Trashy action romp Highlander is set to get a reboot from Fast And Furious director Justin Lin. Iron Man screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have also been signed on to pen the screenplay, so at least it has something going for it.

The original movie starred a French accented Christopher Lambert as Scottish immortal Connor MacLeod while a Scottish accented Sean Connery played Egyptian immortal, Ramirez.

Aside from wacky vocals the film has a cult following and the original movie was followed by 4 sequels. And a TV show. And an anime movie. And books. The new movie will have to work hard to show fans something they haven’t seen before.

By covering classic ground like Highlander, it looks like Summit Entertainment, the boys behind the new movie, are gearing up for a new franchise.

Reports are that the new film is likely to explore the mythology of the immortals. While no cast members have so far been attached to the project, we’re hoping for a Connery cameo.
