It may not be the best zombie franchise but it does have Milla Jovovich in it so that makes it a winner in our books.

The fourth movie in the Resident Evil series has officially begun production in Canada with the series’ first director Paul W. S. Anderson returning. We previously reported that he would not be returning, well he’s changed his mind and will be directing, writing and producing the next movie.

It has now been confirmed that Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter will definitely be returning alongside new additions: Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller and Kim Coates will also appear. There’s still speculation over Eva Mendes and Jensen Ackles’ involvement in the project.

Anderson has said of the new movie, “Alice’s battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn’t finished. Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It’s time to settle the score.”

Better still it’s been announced that this time around we’ll get to see all the zombie action in 3D.

The film is said to be set in Tokyo and will be released late 2010.
