Potter and Twilight Stars Battle To Play Prince Harry
Despite the fact that neither actor looks much like him, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and Robert Pattinson of Twilight (and also Potter) fame, will be competing for a role as Prince Harry in a film about the man third in line to throne.
The forthcoming feature which will be aptly titled The Spare will focus on the 77 days the Prince spent in Afghanistan before sloping back to some bar in Mayfair.
Rumours that Pete Doherty would have been approached for the part if the film was to concentrate on Harry’s life at home have been swiftly denied by film bosses.
Peter Kominsky is director of the forthcoming piece, and told the Daily Mail that he had felt drawn to the subject: “His parents break up in the most spectacularly public way, his mother dies in the most tragic circumstances and, again, public way and everything is picked over. He’s a man born to a role, the heir and the spare.”
Before he gets too sentimental maybe Kominsky should remember that Henry VIII was in the same position at birth – although the chances of Prince William dying of sweating sickness seem rather remote.
