Ryan Reynolds Cross Dresses (For New Movie, Natch)!
Ryan Reynolds is a new man.
Batting his mascara-laden lashes and strutting in stilettos, the “sexiest man alive” is embracing his inner woman—for a new role, of course. Variety reports that the romantic comedy veteran (Just Friends, 2005; Definitely, Maybe, 2008; and The Proposal, 2009) will star in a new, untitled “dude-in-drag” film.
In a clichéd plot reminiscent of White Chicks minus the Wayans and She’s The Man for an audience older than 16, Reynolds’ character, the “jilted lover,” is cross-dressing for the sole purpose of winning back his ex. Naturally, he has been dumped, so it seems the only way to get close to her is to feign gal pal.
The all-too familiar story is being written by Allan Loeb, the 21 and Wall Street 2 screenwriter, and produced by Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Jonathon Komack Martin and Steven Pearl. The movie has been purchased by Working Title for a reported $1 million. Reynolds in drag appears to be a lucrative business.
But what will Green Lantern fans think of their cross-dressing superhero?
