frankGeorge Clooney, Leonardo Di Caprio and Johnny Depp will apparently be fighting it out (literally we hope) for the role of Frank Sinatra in Martin Scorsese’s forthcoming biopic.

If it does come to fisticuffs, each actor can rely on the support of a powerful backer.

Scorsese seems to want Di Caprio to get the role (surprise surprise). Executives at Universal – the studio financing the film – want Johnny Depp and Frank’s daughter says Clooney is the man for the job.

It has been reported that Tina Sinatra is concerned that Scorsese might produce a film that touches on the violence and hard-drinking which sometimes pervaded her father’s lifestyle.

To be honest Tina, it’s quite likely – just look at what he did to Jake LaMotta and Howard Hughes.

We’re just grateful that we won’t be forced to listen to any of them sing. The soundtrack will come from the Rat Pack singers old recordings – phew.
