This Is It Blows Box Office Doors Off
It is only natural that Michael Jackson is topping charts post-mortem.
The concert film This Is It, which features video rehearsal footage of MJ’s expected tour, took in $21.3 million this weekend in the U.S., and has shot to number one.
Just below the new MJ franchise in the weekend’s top 10 is Paranormal Activity with $16.5 million and Law Abiding Citizen at third with $7.3 million.
This Is It has made more than $100 million worldwide, This is It. And if Sony succeeds in expanding beyond the film’s initial two-week run, This Is It may very well maintain its position for a while.
