Silver Surfer Movie Postponed (Gah)

Comic book fiends may have to wait a bit longer for Silver Surfer to get the green light.

Marvel scribe J. Michael Straczynski has revealed that his script is currently “in limbo” with the studio, according to Collider, and he blames the 2007 box office performance of Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer. “It caused them to call into question a Silver Surfer movie,” Straczynski says.

The Silver Surfer first appeared in Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four No. 48 in 1966. And between 1987 and 1998, the figure made cameo appearances in many of Marvel’s major titles. As for 2012, Straczynski’s Silver Surfer is on hold.
