rageBored of the X Factor? Put off by the promise of Christmas misery in Soapland? Dreading those conversations with Granny about why you never wear the snot green reindeer vest she knitted you last Christmas?

OTB prescribes some festive culture. The cure for your winter blues? Not that bloody Iceland advert with Colleen Nolan and Jason Donovan crooning like a couple of screeching cats – it’s the Sally Potter season at the BFI!

Starting this Friday (4th December) the BFI plays host to one of the most multi-talented independent filmmakers of a generation.

Potter’s life has been dedicated to achieving success in all aspects of the arts – from setting up her own dance company and performing in her own film The Tango Lesson, to writing and composing the score on her film Yes (a film written entirely in iambic pentameter), Potter’s work has always had its own distinct rhythm, with the director constantly reinventing her directorial approach for each project. It’s the intense ambition that emanates from Potter’s work which has attracted the likes of Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, Cate Blanchett to her scripts.

And now you lucky OTB fans have the chance to win three pairs of tickets to see Potter’s latest film, Rage, starring Dame Judy Dench. Combining video-phone-style filming techniques with a murder investigation in the fashion world, Rage promises to be an innovative and thoughtful reprieve from the bland Christmas blockbusters. Just head to for more information about the season and how to reserve tickets for these events and if you’re feeling lucky, punks, enter our competition to win one of three pairs of tickets to Rage at 6.20pm on the 22nd December.
