Waska Cast Is Filling Up

pivenThe ensemble cast of indie drama Waska is shaping up.

Based on the novel by Leslie Schwartz, the story follows a young father, played by Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), whose 3-year-old son freezes to death during a fishing trip.

Jeremy Piven, known for the TV series Entourage and currently lending his voice for the film Marmaduke, will portray the local prosecutor who goes after Dekker. Meanwhile, Lynn Collins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is the enraged ex-wife, with other appearances by Kate Walsh (Private Practice), Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern and Joseph Morgan.

Waska, which refers to the first snowfall of the year, is currently shooting in Calgary, Alberta. The Catherine Trieschmann adaptation will be produced by Tim Perell and Shirley Vercuysse of Process Film and directed by Gaby Dellal.
