BAFTA Announce Nominees…Kind Of

you love me, you really love me!Today BAFTA announced a list of potential nominees for this ceremony.

BAFTA members have voted in order to compile this list, with 220 films entered for consideration this year they’ve been whittled down to 15 nominations per category.

That might seem like a lot but that’s only because there’s still another round of voting to go before each category has a final 5. So what we’re basically saying is that if you head over to our friends at the BAFTA website you can check to see if your favourite film of the past year is potentially in the running.

We’re pretty happy to see that Nowhere Boy’s Aaron Johnson is up for a prize are his co-stars Ann-Marie Duff and Kristin Scott-Thomas. And it looks like even more awards are on their way for Kathryn Bigelow’s genius war effort The Hurt Locker

Avatar of course seems to be sweeping the board except it hasn’t received a look in for the acting categories – Zoe Saldana, you’ve been robbed!
