jurassic-park-4About a month ago I bought a copy of Jurassic Park III on video for just 50p, “that’s good value” I thought at the time – I was wrong.

I had forgotten just how bad the final trip to Isla Whatever was, but if one positive thing came out of the film then it should have been the extinction of the franchise for good.

We were amazed then to hear that director Joe Johnston has not only confirmed that Jurassic Park IV is in the works – but he also has plans for a new trilogy!

Speaking to Box Office, the man responsible for Jurassic Park III said that the fourth film in the franchise will be “unlike anything you’ve ever seen”.

“It breaks away from the first three – it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way,” he said.

“We don’t want to make sequel after sequel just because there’s a market for it. We want to tell different, interesting stories.”

This of course means that screenwriters are going to have to come up with three new ridiculous reasons for a group of humans to travel to dinosaur island. Which is going to be tough.
