Zachary Quinto To Be Gershwin?
Heroes villain, Zachary Quinto has reportedly signed on to play legendary American composer George Gershwin according to DeadlineHollywood.
The project will most likely be helmed by Steven Spielberg but we’re waiting on confirmation, meanwhile Quinto is on board with writer Doug Wright and producer Marc Platt.
Dreamworks have the rights to the project and are already trying to arrange accent and dialogue coaches to help Quinto get the right sound for the Brooklyn born music man. Gershwin, whose most famous piece of music was Rhapsody In Blue, died at 38 of a brain tumour.
No word yet on who will be playing his brother Ira Geshwin with whom he often collaborated.
Can we expect more of these types of projects from Quinto in the future? Probably, since he’s decided to stay away from the Star Trek press circuit for a while. Trekkies got their panties in a twist when the star announced that, “I’m stepping away from Star Trek for at least two years – no movies, no conventions, no anything for a while.”
Calm down, he wrote in his blog that he actually meant, ‘Obviously i will be a part of any upcoming films… reprising my role as Spock. What i meant was that in the meantime i won’t be making any public appearances related to the franchise – or doing any more auxiliary projects pertaining to the Trek universe.’
