sandrabullock210x300The award season can be a stressful time for a nominee: press events, constant phonecalls, meetings, dress fittings and the occasional death threat from other potential winners.

Sandra Bullock, Oscar nommed for The Blind Side, joked to Us Magazine that she and rival Meryl Streep, nommed for Julie And Julia, had been sending each other threatening messages.

“With Meryl, when this whole thing started, I left her a voicemail going, ‘You’ve got to watch your back. I’m gonna cut you. I’m gonna take you down’.”

Hardly the words befitting of an Academy Award nominee. But then Bullock revealed that Meryl, who’s already won a little baldie, hit back with some harsh words.

“And then she sent me dead orchids and told me to die, so I sent her a case of liquor and told her to toast to white trash.”

Her words may all be in jest but wouldn’t it be better if Meryl was secretly gangsta like that, just rolling past past Sandra’s house late at night with her crew? Unfortunately, Sandra went on to reveal that really everyone BFFs.

“You have to enjoy being with these women that you admire or love or like or have had friendships with or are just getting to know because you’ve got to take care of each other. No-one, at least the people that I’ve met, no-one cares about the end result or the statue. It’s being able to sit in close proximity with these ladies… and we get to know each other and you laugh at the absurdity of it all.”
