Enchanted Sequel Gets Director And Writer
After making an obscene $340 million worldwide, Enchanted will get a sequel so that Disney can milk it for all it’s worth.
The Proposal director Anne Fletcher has signed on to helm Enchanted 2 which will be penned by Jessie Nelson, writer of weepy drama Stepmom.
The film will most likely still use traditional 2D animation in conjunction with live action filming as was done in the first movie.
Variety reports that although the studio haven’t made deals with anyone regarding casting, they are hoping to entice the original cast members Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Susan Sarandon to come back to the project.
We’re also kind of hoping that Idina Menzel will also return as Nancy Tremaine considering her character travelled to the animated world of Andalasia to marry James Marsden’s character Edward at the end of the first film.
Will we get to see more of the 2D world of choreographed singing animals? Only time will tell, and it could be a while considering the trouble that plagued the first movie in it’s early stages. It went through several directors and more than a few rewrites, so here’s hoping Fletcher and Nelson stick with it or we’ll be hanging around forever.
