Anthony Hopkins For New Exorcism Flick
It’s based on the book by Matt Baglio and supposedly “based on true events” – a claim which you can attribute to virtually anything – it sees a disillusioned young priest-in-training have his faith bolstered when he enrols in Exorcism school (I kid you not, these things actually exist) and encounters demonic spirits.
Anthony “Nice chianti” Hopkins will play a priest who helps a young seminary student battle the forces of darkness.
Mikael Håfström, the director of 1408, an adaptation of Stephen King’s thriller, is going to be directing the feature so there’s some experience in the horror/thriller camp there.
And Hopkins has played quasi-religious figures before if you count his role as Van Helsing in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
No word on when this will actually starting rolling but expect more shouting in Latin than I got from Mrs Lucas in Year 7.
