Paul WS Anderson To Direct Buck Rogers?
Paul WS Anderson, the man who brought us such cinematic gems as Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and Alien Vs. Predator is going to have a crack at an adaptation of comic classic, Buck Rogers according to Deadline New York.
It’s been in the pipeline for quite a while now – Sin City and 300 author Frank Miller announced he was intending to revamp the character as a follow up to The Spirit but as that tripped over its own shoelaces and fell on its face, it’s not surprising Miller hasn’t been handed anything else.
Anderson’s managed to pick up the ball with producer Jeremy Bolt and have convinced rights holders Paradox that they’re the right men for the job. How’d they manage to do that exactly? Hypnotism?
The screenplay’s being penned by Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway so at least the project has a little credibility. Mind you, those guys also wrote the woeful Punisher: War Zone so don’t break out the champagne just yet.
