george210George Lucas should really learn not to pick at scabs, they’ll only get worse. After inflicting the last Star Wars trilogy on us, he’s decided that what the world needs is a comedy cartoon set in the same universe.

He’s teaming up with Seth Green and Matthew Seinreich, the creators of Robot Chicken, to create an animated show which will feature a lighter side to the force. And while Green and Seinreich have been pretty good at it so far (their Star Wars parodies were arguably a lot funnier than Family Guy’s), is a whole series about this really necessary?

Green told The Hollywood Reporter, “”The Star Wars universe is so dense and rich; it’s crazy to think that there aren’t normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined,”

Seinreich added, “”We’re going to pull back the curtain of some of those behind-the-scenes shenanigans.”

No word on a release date for this yet but what do you think? Can the Star Wars franchise sustain a whole comedy series? Let’s ask Luke…
