IYPM210Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor’s comedy movie I Love You Phillip Morris will not be getting a US release according to the LA Times.

Consolidated Pictures Group initially postponed the release date of the film, which sees Jim Carrey play a gay con artist who falls in love with his cellmate, the titular Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor), from a scheduled March 26th release to April 30th.

But now it looks like it won’t ever see the light of day in the States, as a spokesperson for CPG announced that it now has “no scheduled release date”.

The film received mixed reviews on its release here, but what the heck do they think they’re doing shelving a film which such high-profile stars? If they’re scared of audience reactions, they only need to look at the success of Brokeback Mountain to know that many cinema-goers won’t be put off by a little mano-on-mano action.
