Russell Heads East
Usually cast in various macho, grunting Hollywood roles, and with oft well-documented over-zealous behaviour in public, Russell Crowe could be seen as a type-cast actor of a certain ilk. However, he has now emerged as a candidate for a more gentle Bollywood film.
With the decidedly soft part of a German writer, the Academy Award-winning man will speak English in a film which will be released in Hindi and Crowe’s original language. A large team of respected producers, directors and editors have been called up to work in the film, including Chris Dickens who worked on Slumdog Millionaire.
Coming to India for a spiritual experience at a Hindu pilgrimage, the Aussie thespian falls in love with a girl during his emotional release. A far cry from the bloody Gladiator, anyone would’ve thought old Russell has gone soft in his later years.
