woody210Woody Harrelson’s last collaboration with Oren Moverman netted him an Oscar nomination (The Messenger – frustratingly absent from our UK screens at the moment), so it’s no surprise that the two are looking to team up again. This time it’s for corrupt cop drama, Rampart which we hear The Messenger co-star Ben Foster is also interested in.

It’s written by James Ellroy, who has an excellent pedigree for this subject (L.A. Confidential, The Black Dahlia), so it’s an exciting project. It’s a take on the controversial division of the LAPD which saw them involved in various nefarious shenanigans from framing suspects, drug dealing, to covering up evidence – a scandal which inspired the critically acclaimed drama The Shield.

It’s still in the works – neither Foster nor Harrelson have officially signed on yet and there’s no word on when Moverman is planning to make it. But with a line up like that, it sounds like excellent bad cop fodder.
