Edgar210Iron Man 2 is the word on everyone’s lips this week as it’s being released in cinemas on Friday. But there’s also a lot of talk about other projects that Marvel have simmering away in the back room.

Marvel’s President Of Production (sounds like a superhero in his own right) Kevin Feige revealed a few more details on when Edgar Wright would finish working on Scott Pilgrim and get cracking with their size-shifting character Ant-Man.

Scott Pilgrim’s going to keep Wright busy till the end of the year (it’s out in August), so it’s going to be a tight squeeze once all the promotion work is finished.

Grilled by Superhero Hype, Feige said, “Edgar was in LA last week, we sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting Scott Pilgrim, so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we’d start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after The Avengers.”

Given that The Avengers is slated for a 2012 release, it looks like we can look forward to Ant-Man on our screens late 2012 or 2013 at the latest. Is it me or does that seem like an eternity away?
