randy210Randy Quaid and his wife got a nasty shock when they tried to press their luck with a California court on Monday.

The pair were jailed when they failed to turn up to a voluntary court hearing about why they skipped out on a $10,000 luxury hotel bill.

Santa Barbara District Attorney Arnie Tolks said, “They came to court this morning hoping that Judge Ochoa would forgive them for not showing up a couple weeks ago, but the judge said they showed disrespect by prior failures to appear and by flashing Randy’s Golden Globe award in court the last time around,”

Apparently Randy thought that showing the judge his Best Actor trophy for LBJ: The Early Years which he won in 1988 would grant him some clemency, a move which seemed to backfire.

“They both apologized to the court, but the judge obviously didn’t take it lightly.” continued Tolks.

The Quaids posted bail of $100,000 each and left the jail facility in the afternoon after three hours in custody.
