Terrence Howard To Play Marvin Gaye?
Cameron Crowe has been speaking to Terrence Howard about possibly playing iconic Motown legend Marvin Gaye in an upcoming biopic. It’s a part that Will Smith has already turned down, so Crowe will likely be relieved to find a leading man, even if it isn’t finalised yet.
Speaking to Deadline, Howard said, “Nothing’s been signed on paper yet. Everybody who loves music will hate me if I get this one wrong.”
Hmm, well Howard certainly can’t sing that’s for sure. Shine Through It released in 2008 was the one of the most unintentionally hilarious albums I’ve ever heard. Looks like if he does land the part as Gaye, they’ll be touching up those vocals in the studio afterwards.
But Crowe better get a move on as there are several other Gaye biopics in the works – F. Gary Gray has one with Jesse L. Martin and James Gandolfini attached that might be ready to shoot later this year.
Marvin Gaye biopic fights? Let’s get it on… (Sorry)
