Zoe Saldana To Star In Luc Besson Action Flick
Zoe Saldana seems keen to keep the pace high for her movie roles after her stints in Star Trek, Avatar and the forthcoming The Losers as she’s in early negotiations to play an assassin in Columbiana, a new action drama written by Luc Besson.
Heat Vision Blog reports that Olivier Megaton (the director of The Transporter 3) is scheduled to be in the driving seat for this one, which sees a young woman in Bogota traumatised when she witness the murder of her parents in front of her.
Pardon us, but doesn’t that sound awfully like O Ren’s back story from Kill Bill but transplanted to South America rather than Japan?
In adulthood, she becomes a badass assassin who acts as a hit woman for her uncle during the day but spends her nights trying to track down her parents’ murderers.
It’s being written with his Taken script partner Robert Mark Karman and scheduled to shoot in the summer for a 2011 release.
