Orlando Bloom And James Corden For Three Musketeers
Last week we reported that Oscar winner Christoph Waltz was the latest cast member to sign up to Paul W S Anderson’s Three Musketeers where he’ll play the scheming Cardinal Richelieu, but it seems that that’s now expanded to include everyone’s favourite plank Orlando Bloom who will play The Duke Of Buckingham (or possibly the statue of the Duke Of Buckingham, it’ll be hard to tell).
But credit to Bloom for wanting to do something a bit different and it’ll be interesting to see if he can pull it off. He’ll be joining the titular mustache-twirling swordmen Athos (Matthew McFayden), Porthos (Ray Stevenson) and Aramis (Luke Evans), Mads Mikkelson as bad guy Rochefort (with one eye or two, we’re not sure), Logan Lerman as D’Artagnan and Paul Anderson’s wife Milla Jovovich (of course) as Milady De Winter.
James Corden’s also signed up for a role as Planchett, who will be D’Artagnan’s servant (at least in the book) and Juno Temple’s hovering around as a maybe for the role of Queen Anne (although, judging by her hair, she’d probably be more suited to a stint as Queen Elizabeth).
Shooting begins in September for a 2011 release where it’ ll be up against a Doug Liman adaptation which is also in the works.
