Michael Fassbender As Magneto?
Michael Fassbender is as popular as a Robert Pattinson cut-out at a high school disco at the minute. Following his excellent work in Tarantino’s semitic war flick Inglorious Basterds, the actor is being fought over by several studios and has some very promising offers on his highly-polished table.
Film bosses are reportedly courting him for leading roles in X-Men: First Class and the new Spider-Man reboot.
According to Showbiz 411 Matthew Vaughn has approached Fassbender about playing the young Erik Lensherr, the future Magneto seen busting a concentration camp fence in the first X-Men. Accepting the role would place him alongside an already cast James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier.
But on the other-hand he has the prospect of working with 500 Days of Summer‘s Marc Webb in Sony’s new take on Spider-Man. Studio bosses are still locking down an actor for Peter Parker (with Jamie Bell believed to be leading the race) but Fassbender is being widely touted as an unspecified villain.
