Tennant Cast In Fright Night Remake
Fans of Doctor Who will be pleased to hear that David Tennant has joined the cast of Craig Gillespie’s remake of the cult hit Fright Night. Joining him will be Kick-Ass and Superbad star Christopher Mintz-Plasse alongside Colin Farrell, Roddy McDowall and Anton Yelchin.
David Tennant will be playing Vincent, differing from the middle-aged version of the original film. Mintz-Plasse will be playing Charley’s arrogant friend who ends up changing sides and pairing up with the vampire played by Colin Farrell.
The original film told the story of Charley Brewster, a boy in his teens who discovers that his next door neighbour is a vampire throwing the lives of himself and everyone around him into mortal danger. In order to combat his deadly advances, Charley recruits has-been actor Peter Vincent to defeat his foe and save the lives of his loved ones in the process.
In the wake of recent vampire hits such as Twilight and Zombieland it will be interesting to see what Fright Night has to offer for the genre. Watch this space.
