Scorsese & Scott To Collaborate With DiCaprio
It looks like Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio are due to collaborate again on a project handed down by Martin Scorsese – another keen admirer of the Titanic Star. The film is based on Jordan Belfort’s The Wolf of Wall Street – a savagely honest account of the life of a stockbroker during the age of 90s excess. It is thought the film was originally set aside in favour of Shutter Island and will arrive off the heels of Oliver Stone sequel to Wall Street out later this year.
The screenplay has been written by Terry Winter of The Sopranos fame and it has so far been described as sensational by those who’ve read it, championing its pathos and good humour. However, when the project will actually come to fruition is cause for some degree of consternation: Scott is scheduled to film the 3D Alien Prequel whilst Scorsese is otherwise occupied with The Invention of Hugo Cabret. To add to these woes DiCaprio is already cast in Clint Eastwood’s biopic of J. Edgar Hoover, the controversial director of the FBI, due to begin shooting later this year. It will take a patient inspection of their respective diaries to find an adequate gap to complete the picture but anticipation is high with so much talent already involved.
