New Images From Thor
Despite the fact that we won’t actually see Thor until Spring 2011, we’re still very much enjoying the images that are being released, especially the latest.
The film follows Thor as his reckless actions reignite a war, his punishment he is sent to Earth to live with humans. But a powerful enemy strikes out at Earth and sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade our planet.
Now bear in mind when you see these images that they’re going to be coming at you in 3D as it was previously announced. Shocking, I know, that a big blockbuster superhero movie would be in 3D – the only downside is that it’s being converted to 3D rather than being shot in it.
We know the downsides to shooting in 3D for action movies are that the cameras are bulky and difficult to maneuvre but the question is, who will be the first to really impress audiences with a conversion? Captain America will also be converted and director Joe Johnston is promising that a great amount of time will be spent on perfecting the process. Here’s hoping.
Well, on to the images. First up, we’ve got the lovely image of Anthony Hopkins as Odin, standing side by side with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Now that’s what we call an eye patch!
The latest image to be released is of Odin’s throne room at Thor’s ficitional home of Asgard. Here’s a super accurate description of the image from Marvel.com: ‘Gathered around Odin are (from left to right) Loki, Frigga, Odin, Thor, Hogun and Fandral. Lined up in front of the royal gathering are Odin’s elite warriors, the Einherjar. And perched atop the All-Father’s throne, flanking the lord of Asgard, are his ravens Hugin and Munin.’
