First Look At New Godzilla
Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have finally revealed their new IMAX 3D Godzilla to the world and promised a creature that “fans would want to see” in a thinly-velied swipe at Roland Emmerich’s 1998 reptile blockbuster.
Despite what you may think, the producers have also assured fans that he is not breathing fire – he simplay has “atomic breath” (we bumped into a few people like that on the bus this morning) which suggests a return to the preoccupations of the post-Hiroshima 1954 original.
“Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see,” Legendary boss Thomas Tull told THR a few months ago. “We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop culturally relevant for as long as it has.”
The film is expected in cinemas in 2012.
