lucas300A live action television series based on the Star Wars films has been put on hold, according to creator George Lucas.

Lucas had hoped to create a show set between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope – a period that spans about 20 years and holds a significant opportunity for story-telling.

“The live action TV show is kind of on hold because we have scripts, but we don’t know how to do them,” Lucas said.

The potential cost of the stories is proving a considerable stumbling block however..

“They literally are Star Wars, only we’re going to have to do them [at] a tenth of the cost…and it’s a huge challenge, [a] lot bigger than what we thought it was going to be.”
