Vincent Cassel Back For Eastern Promises 2
There are plenty of reasons to hate Vincent Cassel: He’s rich, famous, French and goes home every evening to the plentiful bosom of Monica Bellucci. Cassel has become Hollywood’s go-to guy for French villains, playing François Toulour in Ocean’s Twelve and Thirteen, LaRoche in Derailed and Monsieur Hood in Shrek.
Now he looks set to reprise his role as Kirill in Eastern Promises 2. In an interview with comingsoon.net, Cassel revealed that the sequel to the 2007 film would be shot in Russia: “We talked very seriously about Eastern Promises 2 and it’s going to be shot in Russia with Viggo and myself.”
Eastern Promises starred (a heavily tattooed) Viggo Mortensen as a driver (and hitman) for a violent Russian mob family, with Cassel’s Kirill involved in the rape of a young woman. Eastern Promises was directed by David Cronenberg (The Fly, A History of Violence) and featured one of the greatest naked fight scenes ever recorded on camera.
