Sly Stallone Wants Expendables Sequel
Sylvester Stallone’s acting career largely rests on the financial clout of the franchises he has built. He’s appeared as John Rambo four times and has played the Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa, on no fewer than six occasions.
So it will come as no surprise to hear that Stallone is already planning to reprise his role as Barney Ross (a name and character that lacks the power and charm of the other ‘R’s, Rocky and Rambo) in an Expendables sequel…assuming it does well enough to warrant one.
“If this does perform, I think it will open a little more liquidity in funding the sequel,” he told the LA Times. “I have an idea ready to go. People think doing a sequel is easy, but it’s not because you need the element of surprise. I’m going to try and do something that’s quite radical.”
What that “quite radical” idea may be is unknown, but hopefully it will see expanded roles for Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, and perhaps appearances by other 80s action icons like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal or maybe even Chuck Norris.
