January Jones Joins X-Men: First Class
The slow trickle of names being confirmed for X-Men: First Class is becoming rather tiresome. Is there any reason why Matthew Vaughn couldn’t have announced all the cast members at the same time? Yesterday we brought word of Rose Byrne and Oliver Platt joining the movie, playing Dr. Moira MacTaggert and The Man in Black respectively.
And now it has been announced that Mad Men’s January Jones has ditched Don Draper (again…) and signed on to appear as Emma Frost. Jones is thought to be replacing Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League, Sex & the City 2).
Jones will swap Betty Draper (and a 40-a-day smoking habit) to become the telepathic Emma Frost, whose role (and moral persuasion) in the film is as yet unknown.
Bill Milner, who played Will Proudfoot in Son of Rambow, has been cast as a young Magneto (with Michael Fassbender playing the older version). Zoe Kravitz (daughter of Lenny) will play Angel, and 2012’s Morgan Lily has signed on to play the younger version of Jennifer lawrence’s Mystique. I’m sure we can expect more casting announcements shortly…sigh…
