Daniel Radcliffe To Play Gay In New Drama?
Now that filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is over, Daniel Radcliffe is looking at new projects.
Radcliffe will be playing J. Pierrepont Finch in an upcoming revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, starring in the screen version of The Woman In Black as well as The Journey Is The Destination.
Now it looks like Radcliffe could be in line for a role in My Fair Lidy, according to reports in the Orlando Sentinel. Executive producer on the project, Sandi Bell, made this statement: “This film is timely and broaches many subjects, which include unemployment and how Americans use their wits and self determination to find a way to not only support themselves, but to live the American Dream. Through comedy, this film will make the audience take notice of a very unlikely hero, who just happens to be gay.”
The fact that the main character is gay doesn’t seem to be the focus of the story and could see Radcliffe prove his dramatic chops in a more mature role.
It’s early days still but the reps of Radcliffe and True Blood star Ryan Kwanten are in negotiations. Shooting is scheduled to begin this Winter in Florida.
