Jessica Alba To Star In Spy Kids 4
Jessica Alba is in negotiations to star in Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World. Heat Vision reports that the new Spy Kids film will be a reboot, with Alba playing a retired spy who has been reactivated. Her character is the mother of a baby and has two preteen stepchildren.
The Spy Kids franchise originally starred Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino as the superspy parents of Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara. As Rodriguez wanted to continue the series (writing and directing the previous three films), he needed to recast and reboot the movie (given that Vega is now 23 and hardly classifies as a ‘kid’ anymore).
This will be the third time Alba has worked with Rodriguez, appearing in 2005’s Sin City and Machete (which opens later this year – and stars Danny Trejo, who appeared in Spy Kids as Banderas’ brother, Machete). Banderas, Vega and Sabara are all expected to return to the film in supporting roles.
