Queen Latifah And Dolly Parton Star In Choir Movie
Variety report that the pair are set to star in Joyous Noise, written and directed by Bandslam helmer Todd Graff.
When a small town choirmaster dies, Queen Latifah takes over as she struggles to help the choir succeed in a national competition whilst raising two teenagers of her own. Dolly Parton plays the choirmaster’s widow who had assumed that control of the choir would automatically go to her.
The two join forces for the sake of the choir when budget cuts threaten to dismantle the choir for good. Production is scheduled to begin in January.
Parton rarely acts these days and has few credits to her name but experienced a career high with Steel Magnolias back in 1989. Will Joyous Noise bring Dolly back to the big screen for good?
