Surf’s Up For Sam Worthington’s New Movie
The movie will show surfing’s expansion from an Australian pastime to a global sport with Sam playing a photographe/journalist who was crucial to the growth.
Sam told The Western Australian that, “I’m a [Western Australian] boy at heart and to go back there and put something back into my home town is something I am really looking forward to. There’s something pure and true about surfing, and there is something pure and true about this script.”
Shooting will begin on Drift next autumn which, as the Western Australian put it, means that the production can ‘take advantage of the big waves, moodier skies and, if the schedule allows, the Margaret River Pro surfing event.’
Looks like Sam is going to be a busy boy for the next few years. Dracula: Year Zero will see Sam earn his fangs, he’ll soon begin pimping out his WWII spy movie The Debt and Avatar 2 is set for a 2014 release. Oh and there will be a sequel to Clash of the Titans.
