Angelina Jolie For UK Miniseries Adaptation?
With original ideas in Hollywood occurring about as regular as pigs fly out of a frozen hell, it’s not a massive surprise that another UK miniseries has been snapped up for adaptation. This time it’s ITV series Unforgiven which producer Graham King has hired Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) to write for none other than Angelina Jolie.
The original series saw a woman trying to adapt to a normal life after serving 15 years in prison for murdering two police officers. After trying to live a quiet life with her sister, things are stirred up when she encounters the son of one of the dead officers.
Jolie isn’t confirmed yet as she doesn’t sign on to unfinished screenplays but Graham King’s GK films is trying to buddy up with her after their partnership on The Tourist.
GK Films will also be collaborating with Martin Scorsese on Hugo Cabret soon, so that adds a little more weight to their proposition. But they were also involved in the ill-fated film adaptation of Edge Of Darkness, so that’s certainly got to give Jolie pause for thought. Watch this space for more updates.
