billandted210x300Just when you thought Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted ‘Theordore’ Logan were all out of Excellent Adventures and Bogus Journey, comes news that they might be off on another adventure.

If you’re not familiar with these films then first of all, where the hell have you been? Secondly, you might want to go watch them immediately because you’ll be able to see Keanu Reeves do his ‘duuuuude’ face. It’s priceless.

Anywho, the first movie followed Bill and Ted as they first travelled through time, collecting famous historical faces to help them pass a school history report. But the second movie took a darker turn as Bill and Ted found themselves murdered by robot doppelgangers and have to fight their way out of hell in time for a Battle of the Bands competition.

Much like the Ghostbusters franchise, the series quit after just two movies but it appears a third instalment could be on the horizon.

Over this past weekend there was an LA screening of the Bill and Ted movies which was attended by Alex Winter who played the eponymous Bill. After providing the crowd with an intro to each movie, Winter had time to take questions from a few audience members which prompted one fan to ask about a possible third movie.

Over at Ain’t It Cool News, one fan reported on the Q & A session:

He said that the three of them, Keanu, Ed Solomon and himself, have been kicking ideas around. First and foremost, they don’t wanna make a crap movie, as he put it. They’ve even had ideas that even children wouldn’t be able to see the movie. If they come up with a story that they feel worthwhile, it will happen.

Winter has spent most of his time of late behind the camera and Keanu Reeves has a few projects on the boil but nothing that would prevent a Bill and Ted 3. So it’s not quite been given the greenlight but, if things go well, we could be seeing the return of the Wyld Stallyns!
